Banana Bread French Toast Recipe


just like the obvious thing to do with leftover bananas is make banana bread, the obvious thing to do with leftover banana bread is make french toast (although we don’t usually have leftovers). at gonanas, we have been making this recipe for as long as we can remember, and you can even find it on the menu at various cafes. try this classic for brunch with friends, or if you just need something a little extra in your life.

serving size: 2 pieces of banana bread

servings: 4

 

1 loaf gonanas banana bread (made according to package and cut into 8 slices)

3 eggs

1 cup almond milk

1 tbsp vanilla extract

maple syrup, peanut butter, fruit and powdered sugar for topping (optional)

 

  1. heat a large greased skillet over medium heat. 

  2. whisk together eggs, almond milk and vanilla in a bowl.

  3. dip the banana bread in the mixture so that it is evenly coated, but not too mushy. repeat with the rest of the loaf, one slice at a time.

  4. place the soaked bread on the skillet until slightly crispy on one side (about 4 minutes). flip and repeat. 

  5. top your gonanas french toast with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
