MAPLE CINNAMON CREAM CHEESE FILLED CARROT CAKE BANANA BREAD DONUTS

Howdy, sweet GoNanas fam! I know that you are a busy bunch so let’s just dive right in. Banana babies, we have all heard it said that “less is more.” And there is of course some truth to that. We here at GoNanas obviously agree that “less is more” when it comes to our all natural, super yummy, better for you ingredients. That is how we are able to bring you boss babes banana bread (whoa! - alliteration much?!) that is Vegan, Gluten Free, and Nut Free. “Less is more” is such a vibe. But… hear me out… sometimes (and by sometimes I mean especially in instances of TREATING YOURSELF)... our hot take is that, in fact, MORE is more. I know that sounds crazy. But trust me, you will be completely on board with the concept that more is more when you take a look at our new featured recipe. Wellness by Kiley can do no wrong. So of course we were beyond thrilled to see her latest. Drumroll please… Behold the MAPLE CINNAMON CREAM CHEESE FILLED CARROT CAKE BANANA BREAD DONUTS. What?!?! Don’t worry. I will pause for you to pick your jaw up off the floor! Mine was firmly planted there for like twenty five minutes. How can we possibly fit so much yummy deliciousness into one single recipe?! Well, behold. It can be done. So, let’s get into it!

First things first: Maple Cinnamon. The classic flavor. The OG if you will (and we WILL). Maple Cinnamon is a staple - whether you love it in your morning oatmeal, in a cozy fall seasonal latte, or in perhaps… a donut?! Maple Cinnamon is sure to warm your heart and your tummy any day of the week, month, season, or year. How could you possibly go wrong?! Next up, CREAM CHEESE. Cream cheese?! Are you kidding me? My sweet little heart just can’t take all this goodness. Again, such a versatile bit of yummy decadence! Whether you enjoy your cream cheese on a morning bagel, perhaps with some lox, or even (my personal favorite) in the form of a scrumptious cream cheese frosting - this delightful flavor offers the perfect balance of sweet and savory. A little something for everyone! Next stop on the yummy train, carrot cake. Can you say ALL ABOARD?! WE can. Carrot cake is perhaps the most spring time-y of all the cakes. The spring time-iest. What better way to celebrate this fresh delightful season of new beginnings than with a cake that is basically ripped - nay *plucked* - straight from your gorgeous, fresh, and all natural garden. Nothing says “treat yourself” like cake. And nothing says “nourish your body” like carrots! In the words of queen Hannah Montana, it really is the best of both worlds. Sweet niblets, indeed. And last but certainly not least… Banana Bread. Besties, you obviously know how we feel about this matter. What could be better than banana bread. All the decadence you could want, without any of the guilt. And at GoNanas, as you well know, it is not your Nana’s banana bread. We make it a little zesty for you babes because you are fun and your treats should be too! Not that Nana can’t get down. I have no doubt that she can in fact, party with the best of them.

Here comes the real kicker. Muffins are cute. Cakes are lovely. Hey, bars are convenient and delightful. But nothing says, “treat yourself” quite like a DONUT. Birthday? Donuts. Novelty dessert? Donuts. Morning coffee? Donuts! Donuts truly are the most perfect little morsel of deliciousness out there. From the perfect curve to the expertly crafted hole in the center, I could wax poetic for days about these beauties. And what’s more, this receipe does not even call for any heavy grease or deep frying. So you can leave that guilt behind. The perfect bake will make these donuts nice and just a little bit crispy, the way you expert foodies like and deserve.

Time to break things down a little. Let’s talk about what you are going to need. As always, these ingredients are simple, clean, and… more than likely already in your pantry, young chefs. Go ahead and grab yourself 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil, 2 of your best ripe bananas (go ahead and mash them up, fam), 1 tablespoon of maple syrup (big yum), 2 tablespoons of greek yogurt, and 2 tablespoons of almond milk. Simple enough! Next, grab one package of our yummy GoNanas Carrot Cake Banana Bread mix! Now let’s get into the nitty gritty. By which, of course, I mean your Maple Cinnamon Cream Cheese Filling & Frosting. Grab yourself 8 ounces of cream cheese (soften that baby to room temperature), half a cup of greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, 1 and a half teaspoons of vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of yummy cinnamon. And voila! You are ready to go.

Now, bakers and bakettes, you did not think I would abandon you here, did ya? Of course not! Let’s get into the nuts and bolts of the HOW. First go ahead and preheat your oven to 350 degrees (that’s farenheit, for my international banana fans) and grease a donut pan with nonstick cooking spray. Then in your cutest medium sized mixing bowl, combine all of your ingredients for the batter and mix it up until that baby is smooth. To make your maple cinnamon cream cheese, add all of your ingredients to a large mixing bowl and whip them together until smooth and fluffy. So far so good! Next, use a big ziploc baggie (with the edge snipped) to pipe the carrot cake banana bread batter into the donut pan. Fill each donut halfway. Use a different ziploc baggie with the edge snipped to pipe the maple cinnamon cream cheese filling into the middle of each donut.

Go ahead and pipe the remaining banana bread mix over each donut, to completely cover the cream cheese filling. Bake for 10-13 minutes and top with the rest of the maple cinnamon cream cheese frosting once it’s slightly cooled.

And voila! You are ready to serve and enjoy!

You are so set up for success now bakers. But one last thing… please invite me over to taste test once you’ve made these delicious MAPLE CINNAMON CREAM CHEESE FILLED CARROT CAKE BANANA BREAD DONUTS. Bon appetit, cuties!
